The University of Oviedo Successfully Hosted the First RedProMad Meeting

On 26 and 27 March 2026, the Gijón Campus of the University of Oviedo successfully hosted the first meeting of the Prototyping and Additive Manufacturing Network (RedProMad), organised by the Engineering for Precision Manufacturing (EPMAN) research group. The event brought together 18 representatives from Colombian institutions participating in the network, for two days of knowledge exchange, sharing of experiences and best practices in prototyping and additive manufacturing.

The meeting strengthened cooperation between higher education institutions in Colombia and Spain, fostering links between education, research, innovation and technology transfer. The programme included visits to several additive manufacturing facilities within Gijón’s Science and Technology Park, providing valuable opportunities for academic and technological exchange.

The success of this first edition marked an important step towards consolidating RedProMad as an international platform for collaboration and joint initiatives in prototyping and additive manufacturing on both sides of the Atlantic.
