The Metrology Lab is dedicated to the measurement, inspection and characterisation of manufactured components and surfaces using contact and non-contact techniques. It provides an experimental environment for high-precision dimensional assessment, three-dimensional digitising, surface inspection and reverse engineering. The laboratory supports research into measurement methodologies, complex geometries and the integration of metrology into digital manufacturing and quality assurance processes.

The Additive Manufacturing Lab focuses on the development, study and validation of additive manufacturing processes, particularly material extrusion-based technologies for polymer and metal materials. It provides an experimental environment to investigate the relationship between process parameters, manufacturing strategies, part geometry and component quality, supporting research into process optimisation, functional prototypes and the integration of additive manufacturing with digital inspection and quality assessment.

The Manufacturing Workshop provides an experimental environment for conventional and advanced manufacturing processes, with particular emphasis on computer-controlled machining and process integration. It enables the study of manufacturing processes, and the integration of inspection and quality control. The workshop supports research connecting process planning, conventional and CNC manufacturing and measurement within a unified digital manufacturing workflow.
