Teamwork-based Education and Digitalization as an Approach for the Interdisciplinary Engineering Training (TEDI)
Abstract
The TEDI project is a 36-month Erasmus+ Cooperation Partnership in Higher Education (KA220-HED) running from September 2024 to August 2027, co-funded with a grant of €250,000.
Coordinated by Rzeszów University of Technology (Poland) alongside Kaunas University of Technology (Lithuania) and the University of Oviedo (Spain), TEDI directly addresses the need for internationalized and interdisciplinary training in modern engineering education. Targeting the core disciplines of mechanical engineering, civil engineering, and materials science, the project establishes an innovative methodology that integrates online distance learning with hands-on, stationary laboratory workshops. Students and academic staff from all partner institutions collaborate within international teams to solve engineering problems, leveraging advanced digital tools, CAx software, and shared university research infrastructure.
Key deliverables include four international pilot trainings, the publication of an open-access academic handbook, interactive e-learning modules, a project web portal, and feedback collection through multiplier events.
Ultimately, TEDI aims to enhance students’ technical and soft skills, foster microcredentials certification, and create a sustainable roadmap for interdisciplinary engineering education across Europe.
