Development of Additive Manufacturing Parameters Using Plastic Pellet Extrusion
Abstract
In theory, additive manufacturing can process virtually any material, but in practice, the range of available materials remains limited. This project develops a procedure and a guide for introducing engineering-grade materials into industrial applications through pellet-based additive manufacturing (pellet extrusion). Manufacturing parameters are established using purpose-designed test specimens. The project also highlights the technology’s potential to reduce waste generation and environmental impact.
