Design, Development and Validation of an Extrusion System for Bioprinters
Abstract
This project forms part of an European Horizon Europe project on the bioprinting of living cells for regenerative medicine. Its aim is to design an extruder capable of regenerating human skin directly on the patient (in situ bioprinting). It involves reviewing extrusion technologies for this application, the conceptual and detailed design of the mechanical and electronic components, and the simulation of various subsystems. It concludes with tests on an initial minimum viable prototype, which validate the results and pave the way for the manufacturing phase.
