Study of the Influence of Scanning Speed on Conoscopic Holography Scanning
Abstract
The main objective of this project is to determine whether scanning speed influences the results obtained using conoscopic holography. To this end, several experiments were conducted on two machines that can be equipped with this sensor: the ConoScan 4000 and the DEA Swift. The experiments aimed to assess whether scanning speed affects point acquisition and whether a maximum scanning speed limit should be imposed to ensure that the scanning results are not influenced by this parameter. The analysis of the experiments conducted on the ConoScan 4000 revealed that scanning speed does indeed affect the scanning results. At high acquisition frequencies and long exposure times, the resulting point clouds exhibit higher noise levels. By contrast, the experiments conducted on the DEA Swift were not entirely conclusive. Nevertheless, the standard deviation analysis showed an increase at high acquisition frequencies, consistent with the results obtained on the ConoScan 4000.
